New robot can differentiate textures



If we pick up a brick, we can feel thats it's texture is rough. Unlike humans, most robots can't tell the difference between textures of objects. Unless your robot developed at USC Viterbi School of Engineering. For example, there studies have made robotic fingers have the capability of telling the difference of an object's texture. In the video below they talk about their experiments. One of which includes testing 117 different textures with their robotic finger.
